Information about data used for Better Plates forms, email subscriptions, and checkout.

Information you submit

When you use a form on this website, Better Plates may receive the information you enter, such as your name, email address, message, or nomination details.

How it is used

Submitted information is intended to be used to respond to inquiries, manage product updates, process program nominations, or provide the information you requested.

Email subscriptions

When you join The Better List, your email address and subscription status are stored in the private Better Plates CRM. Better Plates uses a double-opt-in process, so your subscription is not marked confirmed until you use the confirmation link. Confirmation messages are sent through Better Plates' business email service.

Orders and payments

When you choose secure checkout, your cart is sent to a Better Plates server function to validate current product pricing and availability. Payment, billing, and shipping details are then collected by Stripe on its hosted checkout page. Better Plates does not place raw card details in this website’s code.

Customer and inquiry records

Contact requests, Better Plates Gives nominations, Better List subscription records, and order information may be stored in the private Better Plates CRM so the business can respond to requests and manage customer relationships. Payment card numbers are not stored in the CRM.

Other services

This site uses Netlify for hosting, server functions, and the CRM database; Stripe for hosted payment processing; Namecheap Private Email for business email delivery; and Pinterest sharing tools on pages where sharing is enabled.

Security

Better Plates uses access controls, HTTPS, server-side secrets, signed sessions, request throttling, and restricted administrative endpoints to reduce unauthorized access. No internet-connected system can be guaranteed completely secure.

Before launch

This page describes the services currently prepared in the website build, but it is not legal advice. Before launch at scale, Better Plates should review the final policy against its actual business practices, retention rules, shipping process, and any additional tools that are enabled.
